UT Capstone Project Sponsor 2025

Purpose

ClearCam is involved in many educational program with various engineering schools at University of Texas at Austin. I had the opportunity to propose, direct, and support a senior design capstone project that benefited ClearCam’s R&D efforts and the Senior Group’s education.

Problem

There was a need for an evaluation platform that replicates the of laparoscopic surgical instruments to capture data on ergonomics, accessibility, and ease-of-use which can inform design improvements and evidence-based product development

Proposal

Recognizing the project’s educational value and low implementation risk, I developed a proposal, specification sheets, and budget to a University of Texas senior design team to guide their capstone project.

Results

The senior design team created a laparoscopic surgery evaluation platform that can capture user handling data previously unavailable in the lab, while dramatically reducing costs compared to existing market solutions.
